The Stakeholders Inaugural Town Hall on Veterans and Military Families was held on November 12, 2015. The event was attended by veterans, military family members, service organizations, counties, higher education and business leaders. Needless to say, our discussion was amazing and needs to continue.
A Task Force has been formed that will convene business laders, nonprofit organizations, county veteran service officers and higher education institutions to assess how to best serve the veterans and military families in our community and to develop a plan for meeting those needs. Your input is crucial. Being a member of the task force is also a great way to network with other Veteran Service organizations, busineeses who support the community, higher education and government officals.
The next meeting will take place on March 23, 2016 at One P.M. at Excelsior College. Task Force participation is open to members of the Stakeholders. Membership Information may be found at www.thestakeholders.org when you click the “join” tab. More information about the task force may also be found under “Veterans and Military Families” tab. Your membership contribution assists us in hosting and staffing this program. County Veteran Service officers are invited to attend as our guest. If you have questions please contact me at email@example.com
The Task force meeting agenda will include planning for another Town Hall, establishing a governance structure by selecting chairs/co-chairs, committees, and establishing the process through which we can receive information and determine what projects/tasks must be undertaken. I would like to thank Berkshire Bank, Key Bank, Price Chopper, Castle Rock Ranch Group, Omni Development and Fingerpaint for joining the Stakeholders and lending their early support. I would also like to thank Excelsior College who will host this meeting and have stepped up in a big way to provide the Task Force with resources.
